Limited manufacturer information

We list this mask because it's sold to UK buyers, but its maker publishes less than most. Check these points before buying:

  • No legal company name on the brand's site (trading name and a Hong Kong postal address only)
  • Terms of service are under Hong Kong law; support phone number is US-based
  • No UK conformity mark (UKCA) or EU representative shown in the manual

We'll update this listing if the manufacturer provides this information.

Light output (irradiance)

30mW/cm²

How it was measured isn’t published. Manufacturer-stated

Dose per session

5.4J/cm²

Calculated by Luma Index

Notes on these figures

Product page only ('Power Density 30mW/cm²'; comparison table labels it 'Peak power (single LED)'). Not in the manual. Measurement distance, location, instrument, band and whether per-LED or across the mask are NOT disclosed. The 'single LED' label suggests it may not represent irradiance at the skin across the treatment area.

Luma Index calculation: 30 mW/cm² × 180 s ÷ 1000. Not stated by the brand for this device (its science page uses the same arithmetic as a generic example). Valid only if 30 mW/cm² applies across the treated area, which is not established ('Peak power (single LED)').

Light-output figures come from the manufacturer. Independent checks are rare, even in published studies, so treat them as claims. Why

  • Flexible silicone

About this review

Tried & tested by Josie O'Brien. Lists 800 LEDs and the same wavelengths as our record, and links the Face Pro. Answers 'FDA approved? Yes', but Project E claims FDA clearance only for the separate LumaLux Face V2, and we found no 510(k) for the Face Pro. Some description reads like brand copy ('most powerful… on the market'). Price quoted £309. Roundup by Leanne Bayley (updated 11 Aug 2026). Most entries are 'Tried & Tested' by a named HELLO! writer; some use a customer review instead. The article's only expert is Laura Ferguson, co-founder of The Light Salon, whose mask is listed first. Article carries an affiliate disclosure. Text supplied by the site owner.

FDA 510(k) clearance Not disclosed

UK
MHRA device registration Not yet checked
Details

Brand describes it as 'a cosmetic treatment'; benefits list includes acne, inflammation and scarring. Classification requires further review. MHRA told the BBC on 5 Nov 2025 that 'there are currently no LED face masks currently registered'. Registration can be checked on the MHRA Public Access Registration Database (PARD); not yet checked for this model.

UK
Advertising Standards Authority ruling: Upheld, 5 Nov 2025 (A25-1293784) Independently verified
Details

ASA ruling A25-1293784 (5 Nov 2025), Project E Beauty LLC, upheld: ads and the projectebeauty.uk product page made acne and rosacea claims; the ASA 'had seen no evidence that the product was registered with the MHRA or had the appropriate conformity marking'. The brand told the ASA it had removed the ad and amended the page. The ruling names the advertiser as Project E Beauty LLC, Flat B1, 10/F, Block 2 Golden Dragon Ind Centre, 162-170 Tai Lin Pai Road, Kwai Chung, Hong Kong. Ruling does not name the mask model.

Safety standards declared (2)

IEC 60601-1-2, IEC 62471

Stated on product page/FAQ only ('certified under IEC 60601-1-2'; 'IEC 62471-certified eye protection'); not in the manual. No test reports published. Other standards (e.g. IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-2-57) not mentioned.

A conformity mark or US FDA clearance doesn't prove a device works. "Not published" doesn't mean unsafe. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or take light-sensitising medicines, ask your GP or pharmacist first.
