About Luma Index

Luma Index is an independent UK directory of LED and red light therapy face masks. We collect what manufacturers publish (product pages, user manuals, study reports and regulatory documents), add UK retailer prices and published reviews, and present it so you can filter and compare.

What we don't do

• We don't test masks ourselves, and we never imply that we have.
• We don't give products scores, star ratings or "best" awards.
• Commission rates never affect what we list or how it's shown.

How information is labelled

• Manufacturer-stated: from the brand's own documents.
• Independently verified: we checked it against a primary document or an independent source.
• Conflicting information: the brand's own sources disagree; we show both.
• Not disclosed: we looked and the brand doesn't publish it. This doesn't mean the product is unsafe or ineffective.
• Not yet checked / Requested: we haven't found it yet, or we've asked the manufacturer.
• Calculated: worked out by us from the brand's figures; the method is shown.

"Limited manufacturer information" notices

Some masks sold to UK buyers come from makers that publish very little about who they are. Where that's the case, we still list the mask, but we add a notice that sets out exactly what's missing: for example, no registered company name, no user manual, or no UK or EU representative. Notices are an editorial decision, and the reasons are always shown. We'll remove a notice as soon as the manufacturer publishes or sends the missing information.

Key facts published

For each mask we count which of 12 basic facts the maker publishes, such as wavelengths, light output and how it was measured, warranty, safety warnings, and whether a study of the device is available. It's a measure of transparency, not of quality or effectiveness.
